About Invokana - Indication, Dosing & Cost

Indication

Invokana is indicated for the treatment of adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) as an adjunct to diet and exercise:​1

  • as monotherapy when metformin is considered inappropriate due to intolerance or contraindications.
  • in addition to other medicinal products for the treatment of diabetes.

For treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in adults with T2DM as add-on to standard of care, a dose of 100 mg once-daily should be used. See SmPC section 4.2 for dosing details.

Invokana 100 mg with severe albuminuria at initiation
What to if tighter glycaemic control is needed? table
Invokana 100 mg: Initiation down to an eGFR of 30 for patients with albuminuria >30 mg/mmol with no dose adjustment needed until dialysis/renal transplantation.1
